Movement becomes meaning.
Eight Modules: Theory, Practice and Concept Development
The Neurotango® Practitioner Certification provides an in-depth understanding of the principles behind every Neurotango® Tool, Neuro Tool and Psychotool. You will learn not only how to apply the exercises, but also why they work, which neurological, psychological and therapeutic mechanisms they address, and how to adapt them to the specific symptoms, needs and goals of your own professional target group.
Module 1 – The Neurotango® Concept
The Neurotango® Concept with three Tool Boxes
Learn the structure of the Neurotango® methodology and understand the role of its three tool categories: the Neurotango® Tools (NTT), the Neuro Tools (NNT) and the Psychotools (NPT). Each category serves a specific therapeutic purpose and contributes to different aspects of neurological, psychological and somatic work.
The Development and Application of the Three Tool Categories
Learn why the Neuro Tools and Psychotools were developed to complement the Neurotango® Tools. As Neurotango® expanded into neurological, psychological and other professional settings, it became clear that different target groups required additional tools, different forms of movement preparation and new therapeutic approaches. Together, the three tool categories form a flexible methodology that can be adapted to a wide variety of professional applications.
Explore Neurotango® Concept Variety and Application in Practice
Explore Neurotango® concepts developed for a wide variety of professional fields and target groups. Discover how the same Neurotango® Tools can be translated into practical applications for different symptoms, therapeutic objectives and professional settings, helping you identify your own specialization and prepare for developing your own Neurotango® concept.
Module 2 – The 12 Neurotango® Tools
Movement with Meaning
The twelve Neurotango® Tools form the heart of the Neurotango® methodology. Each tool represents a specific therapeutic objective and reflects a fundamental step in human development, influencing movement, train awareness, perception, communication and relationship skills through meaningful embodied experience.
Understand the Twelve Neurotango® Tools
Learn the therapeutic objective, characteristic nature and embodied principle of each tool. Discover how every tool influences physical, neurological, psychological and emotional processes through movement.
Apply the Tools in Practice
Learn which symptoms, challenges and therapeutic objectives each tool is designed to address. You will understand how to translate the underlying principle of every tool into practical exercises for different target groups, therapeutic settings and professional applications.
Flexible Application
The Neurotango® Tools require no dance or musical experience and can be applied in individual, partner or group sessions, standing, sitting or lying down, depending on the needs and abilities of the target group.
Module 3 – Neurology and the 3 Neuro Tools
Understand the Neurological Foundations
Learn the neurological principles that form the scientific foundation of the Neurotango® methodology. You will understand how movement influences learning, neuroplasticity, pattern formation, attention, emotion and social interaction in the brain.
Neuroscience in Practice
Explore topics such as multisensory stimulation, mirror neurons, the Default Mode Network and the role of emotions in motor learning. Learn how these neurological principles support therapeutic goals and explain the effects of the Neurotango® methodology.
The 3 Neuro Tools
Learn the three Neuro Tools and their practical application with neurological target groups. These preparatory exercises are used at the beginning of Neurotango® sessions to improve concentration, attention, orientation, neuro-cognitive and neuro-motor readiness before introducing the Neurotango® Tools.
Module 4 – Psychology and the 20 Psychotools
The Psychological Foundations
The Psychotools are based on the understanding that many psychological challenges arise within human relationships. Through structured movement, interaction and embodied experience in a safe environment, the Psychotools create opportunities for new relational experiences. They can be used analytically to recognize typical patterns of contact and interaction, as well as therapeutically to develop new experiences and more functional ways of relating to ourselves and others.
The 20 Psychotools
Learn the twenty Psychotools and understand their therapeutic objective, characteristic nature and embodied principle. The Psychotools accompany the entire spectrum of human interaction, ranging from no body, eye or skin contact to close physical connection. This is why Neurotango® includes many different variations of Leading and Following. Each variation represents a specific level of communication, trust, proximity and relationship, allowing the tools to be adapted to different therapeutic goals, target groups and individual needs.
Tango Therapy Tools in Psychotherapy and Coaching
Study movement-based approaches used in psychotherapy and coaching, including selected exercises by Rodolfo Dinzel alongside the original Neurotango® Psychotools. By comparing different therapeutic concepts, you will gain a broader understanding of how movement, interaction and embodied experience can support communication, human relationships and psychological change.
Module 5 – Musicality
Music as a Therapeutic Tool
Learn how rhythm, melody and musical structure influence movement, emotions, concentration and neurological processes. Understand why music selection is an essential therapeutic decision and how different musical characteristics support specific Neurotango® Tools and therapeutic objectives.
The Musical Language of Argentine Tango
Discover the historical origins, musical characteristics and emotional expression of Argentine Tango. You will learn why tango provides a unique foundation for Neurotango® and how its rhythms, melodies and body language support meaningful embodied experiences.
Select the Right Music
Learn practical criteria for selecting music for different Neurotango® Tools and target groups. The module explains how rhythm, tempo, melody and musical structure can be used to support learning, communication, movement quality and therapeutic goals.
Musical Expression and Therapeutic Freedom
Discover why Argentine Tango offers unique therapeutic possibilities compared to many other musical styles. Its rich variety of rhythms, melodies and emotional moods allows movement to be adapted independently of the musical beat. You will learn how tempo, intensity, movement amplitude and emotional expression can be varied to match different therapeutic objectives, symptoms and individual abilities. Unlike many other musical styles, Argentine Tango does not require movement to follow the rhythm mechanically.
Module 6 – Didactics and Session Structure
Design Professional Neurotango® Sessions
Learn the practical and didactic principles of planning Neurotango® sessions for different target groups. The module explains how to select and combine the appropriate tools and exercises, determine the optimal session duration, organize the room layout, seating, equipment, music and refreshments, and create a safe, motivating and effective learning environment.
Adapt to Your Target Group
Learn how to design Neurotango® sessions according to the needs of different target groups. You will learn how to select the appropriate sequence of a session, including the initial assessment, welcome and introduction, warm-up and motivation, Neuro or Psychotools, preparatory exercises, the main Neurotango® Tool, partner or individual variations, reassessment and a relaxing closing phase. The module explains how to adapt every element while preserving the therapeutic objective and characteristic nature of the selected tools.
Create a Positive Learning Environment
Discover practical teaching strategies that encourage motivation, enjoyment, participation and successful learning. You will learn how instructions, demonstrations, group dynamics and feedback influence therapeutic outcomes and how to create a safe, supportive and inspiring atmosphere.
